Notes
Swamp pink (Helonias bullata) is a perennial for shade gardens, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy soil. Fragrant pink flowers open in early to late spring and draw butterflies and bees. The evergreen leaves keep green color all year, and the plant grows slowly.
Pairs well with Bloodroot, Lady fern, and Serviceberry.
