Notes

Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) is a tree for borders, containers, and xeriscape gardens, and it needs little upkeep. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. It is drought tolerant and adapts to acid, neutral, or alkaline soil. Mature trees can reach 40 feet or more, so give it room.

Pairs well with Blue paloverde, Mango, Arizona Sun blanket flower, and Purple needle grass.
