Notes

Thicket bean (Phaseolus polystachios) is a twining vine for screens and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). It can climb up to 144 inches tall. Pink, purple, and violet flowers appear in mid to late summer and again in early to mid autumn. Give the vines a fence or shrubs to climb.

Pairs well with American wisteria, Jackmanii clematis, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
