'Tomer Red' Persian buttercup (Ranunculus asiaticus 'Tomer Red') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It grows up to 12 inches tall and wide, and bees visit the blooms in spring and again in summer. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Cut the stems for bouquets.
