Notes

Tufted poppy (Eschscholzia caespitosa) is an annual for borders, containers, and xeriscape beds. It grows well in cool weather and can ride out a light frost. This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Satiny yellow flowers sit alone on stems that rise from a tuft of finely cut leaves. The blooms are fragrant and attract butterflies. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Sky lupine, Purple Chinese houses, and Purple sage.
