Notes

Sky lupine (Lupinus nanus) is an annual for borders, low maintenance beds, and ground cover. This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Rich blue flowers open in early to late spring, and each one has a white or yellowish spot. The blooms are fragrant and draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. The leaves are divided into 5 to 7 narrow leaflets covered with long hairs.

Pairs well with California poppy, California brittlebush, and Purple lovegrass.
