turquoise ixia

Notes

Turquoise ixia (Ixia viridiflora) is a bulb for containers, borders, and rock gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. Its green to turquoise flowers have deep purple-black centers and open from early to late summer. Plant the bulbs 5 to 6 inches deep in gravel for good drainage.

Pairs well with Paintbrush, Sorrel, Crocus, and Sedge.
