Notes

Sedge (Carex comans) is a clumping grass for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The evergreen foliage comes in brown, copper, green, and red shades. It is drought tolerant once settled in. Bees and butterflies visit the green-brown flowers in spring and summer.

Pairs well with Gaura, Purple top, and Japanese maple.
