Notes
European fan palm (Chamaerops humilis var. cerifera) is a shrub for containers, specimen plantings, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. This clumping palm grows slowly and gives winter interest with its evergreen fans. It tolerates salt, and it blooms in early to late spring.
Pairs well with Stonecrop, Society garlic, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
