Notes

'Variegata' cast iron plant (Aspidistra elatior 'Variegata') is a houseplant for low maintenance spots, specimen use, and shade garden accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full shade and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows in a slow, clumping habit and stays evergreen all year. It also tolerates drought and salt, and it blooms in early to late summer.

Pairs well with Autumn fern, Sum and Substance hosta, and Aureola Japanese forest grass.
