This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, loamy or clay soil. It blooms in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the flowers.
Pairs well with Blue star, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Big bluestem.
