Virginia fanpetals (Ripariosida hermaphrodita) is a tall perennial for pollinator gardens, back borders, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun. It can reach 6 to 12 feet tall and has large, palmate leaves. Clusters of small, white, hibiscus-like flowers with reddish purple stamens open in early to late summer. Honeybees visit the flowers for nectar.
