Notes

'Watermelon' coneflower (Echinacea 'Watermelon') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It sits low on the menu for deer. It blooms from early to late summer and the flowers are fragrant. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Standing Ovation little bluestem, Nodding onion, and Krossa Regal hosta.
