It shrugs off cool spells and light frost, though a hard freeze will damage it. This plant likes full or part sun and moist to wet, loamy soil. The white flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. It blooms in spring, summer, and autumn.

Pairs well with Stock, Amaranth, and Papyrus.
