Notes

Amaranth (Amaranthus tricolor) is an annual for borders, low maintenance beds, and food gardens. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its leaves come in gold, green, pink, purple, red, and variegated colors. It grows 24 to 48 inches tall and handles dry spells well.

Pairs well with Pacific Beauty calendula, Zucchini, and Chinese mustard.
