Notes

Windflower (Anemonastrum canadense) is a perennial for ground cover, meadows, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet soil of most types. White flowers with golden centers bloom in spring and again in summer. It can spread fast in good conditions, so give it room and divide crowded clumps in the fall. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with White trillium, Royal fern, and Brown-eyed Susan.
