Notes

'Winter Gold' crabapple (Malus 'Winter Gold') is a tree for specimen planting and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White, fragrant flowers open from early to late spring and draw butterflies, bees, and birds. The leaves turn yellow in fall. This tree is self-fertile and handles dry spells well.

Pairs well with Green Spice coral bells, Gladiator ornamental onion, and Royal fern.
