Notes
Wood melick (Melica uniflora) is a grass for naturalized plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and 12 to 24 inches wide, so plan space for it. Purplish-brown flowers appear in early to mid summer. Those blooms add a subtle touch of color to a naturalized planting.
Pairs well with Mondo grass, Ostrich fern, and Wallflower.
Native range
Europe, northern Africa, and western Asia.
