Notes

Yellow buttons (Chrysocephalum apiculatum) is a perennial for borders and containers. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full sun and dry soil of most types. It stays evergreen and tolerates drought and salt. Butterflies and bees visit its yellow flowers in spring, summer, and autumn.

Pairs well with Creeping zinnia, Sea kale, Canada wild rye, and Pugster Amethyst wand butterflybush.
