Notes

'Akebono' yoshino cherry (Prunus yedoensis 'Akebono') is a tree for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil of most types. It blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late autumn. The fragrant flowers attract bees, and birds visit the tree too. It also tolerates drought once established.

Pairs well with Umbrella tree, May Night salvia, and Feather reed grass.
