Notes

'May Night' salvia (Salvia sylvestris 'May Night') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance or xeriscape gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers. It tolerates drought once settled in.

Pairs well with Creeping thyme, Blue grama, and Japanese spirea.
