Notes

Alaska cedar (Callitropsis nootkatensis) is an evergreen tree for specimen planting, hedges, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The dark green foliage hangs in flat, drooping sprays on weeping branches. Mature trees have a narrow profile and stringy white bark. The wood has a pleasant, resinous odor.

Pairs well with Douglas fir, Hicksii yew, Christmas fern, and Winterberry.
