Notes

'Allen Chandler' rose (Rosa 'Allen Chandler') is a climbing shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimens, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. The fragrant, medium red blooms open in late spring, again in summer, and once more in early autumn, and bees visit them. Orange-red hips follow the flowers. Prince introduced it in 1923.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Mexican hat, and Butterfly bush.
