Notes

'American Dream' dahlia (Dahlia 'American Dream') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The violet flowers have a bright yellow base with purplish red markings. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the blooms. H.A. van Eeuwijk bred it, and it is toxic to dogs and cats.

Pairs well with June hosta, Lemongrass, and Royal Purple smoketree.
