'Amethyst' tulip (Tulipa 'Amethyst') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It blooms in early to late spring and grows about 20 inches tall. The petals are purple outside and beetroot purple inside, with mauve edges and a sea blue base.
Pairs well with Ice Follies daffodil, Monsieur Jules Elie peony, Nodding onion, and Little bluestem.
