Notes

Anise hyssop (Agastache foeniculum) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Dense spikes of small, tubular flowers attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. The oval leaves smell of anise when bruised.

Pairs well with Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, Blue grama, and Nodding onion.
