Notes
Purple giant hyssop (Agastache scrophulariifolia) is a perennial for butterfly gardens, woodland edges, and back-of-the-border plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and moist soil. Erect, purplish stems reach up to 5 feet tall. Purplish-red flowers form crowded spikes with purple bracts from mid to late summer into early autumn. The toothed leaves are whitish beneath.
Pairs well with Mini Skirt hosta, Bush honeysuckle, and Canada wild rye.
