Notes

Aquatic milkweed (Asclepias perennis) is a perennial for low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and moist to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pink tips on the unopened flowers make a pink spot at the top of each bud, so you can spot it before it blooms. White to pink flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Golden club, Feather reed grass, and Rosepink.
