Notes

Arroyo willow (Salix lasiolepis) is a shrub for low maintenance planting, hedges, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It usually forms a thicket of clustered stems, though it can grow as a small tree with a narrow, irregular crown. The scientific name means shaggy scale and refers to the white hairs on the flower scales.

Pairs well with Honeyberry, Horsetail, and Alaska violet.
