Notes

Coyote willow (Salix exigua) is a shrub for borders and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It suckers freely and forms thickets, so give it room. Male flowers give pollen to bees, and the leaves feed many native butterfly and moth larvae.

Pairs well with Rush, Indigo bush, and Rocky mountain juniper.
