Notes
Atlantic pigeon wings (Clitoria mariana) is a twining vine for borders, pollinator gardens, and woodland edges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Large lavender-pink, pea-like flowers open in the leaf axils, usually one at a time. Butterflies and birds visit it. The flower stands erect, which helps you tell it from spurred butterfly pea.
Pairs well with Passionflower, Trumpet honeysuckle, and Texas bluebonnet.
