Notes
'Australia' canna (Canna hybrida 'Australia') is a bulb for borders, containers, and accent plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil of most types. It grows 48 to 60 inches tall and forms a clump with red flowers that attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It also tolerates drought and salt.
Pairs well with Hardy hibiscus, Thalia, and Karl Foerster feather reed grass.
