Notes

Belladonna lily (Amaryllis belladonna) is a bulb for borders, containers, specimen plantings, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Leafless reddish purple stems rise in late summer and fall, topped with fragrant, glowing pink, trumpet-shaped flowers. The leaves appear in fall, winter, or early spring and go dormant by summer.

Pairs well with Creeping thyme, California poppy, and Mondo grass.
