Notes
'Bergman' Japanese white pine (Pinus parviflora 'Bergman') is a tree for borders, specimen planting, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It is a slow grower with a dense habit, and the fragrant needles stay green all year. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. You can plant it where you want steady structure.
Pairs well with Royal Star star magnolia, Forever Susan lily, and Hairy aster.
