Notes

Japanese white pine (Pinus parviflora) is a tree for borders, specimen planting, accents, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It grows slowly into a dense evergreen with blue, gray, silver, and green needles that smell fragrant. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Birds visit it too.

Pairs well with Viburnum, Feather reed grass, and Norway spruce.
