Notes

'Blue Boy' dahlia (Dahlia 'Blue Boy') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil. Violet flowers about 110 mm wide have yellowish-white veins and base, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit them. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Roy Takeuchi bred it in 1980.

Pairs well with Magnus coneflower, Blue Angel hosta, Vermillionaire cuphea, and Black-eyed Susan.
