Notes

'Blue Diadem' cornflower (Centaurea cyanus 'Blue Diadem') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It shrugs off cool spells and light frost, though a hard freeze will damage it. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall and blooms in spring and summer. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the flowers. Deer tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Common poppy, False Queen Anne's lace, and California poppy.
