Notes

'Black Ball' cornflower (Centaurea cyanus 'Black Ball') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. Cool weather suits it, and it can take a light frost. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in spring and summer and draws butterflies, bees, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Once settled, it handles dry spells well.

Pairs well with Fizzy White cosmos, Cerise Queen yarrow, and Supertunia Vista Silverberry petunia.
