Notes
'Brilliantissima' chokeberry (Aronia arbutifolia 'Brilliantissima') is a shrub for borders, rain gardens, hedges, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, loamy or clay soil. Its white spring flowers draw butterflies and bees, and the berries feed birds. It grows slowly into a tall, narrow column with bright red fall color. Deer rarely make it their first choice.
Pairs well with Inkberry, Big bluestem, and Meadowsweet.
