Notes
'Autumn Magic' black chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa 'Autumn Magic') is a shrub for borders, hedges, rain gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White flowers open in early to late spring and draw butterflies, bees, and birds. The leaves turn a rich color in fall, and the plant also tolerates drought.
Pairs well with Hummingbird sweet pepperbush, Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, Indian grass, and Wild bergamot.
