Notes

Purple chokeberry (Aronia prunifolia) is a shrub for hedges, food gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It has white blooms and turns a rich color in fall. Butterflies and birds visit it, and it needs little care once settled.
