Notes

Bristle-pointed iris (Iris setosa) is a perennial for borders and meadows that needs little care. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, loamy soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Purple-blue flowers open about one month after the snow melts, and hummingbirds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Pale purple coneflower, Royal fern, and Nodding onion.
