Notes

'New York' iris (Iris 'New York') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It bears blue-violet blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. The falls are moorish blue with green-yellow veins and a small primrose yellow blotch.

Pairs well with Garden phlox, Japanese forest grass, and Nelly Moser clematis.
