Notes
Bronze banana (Musa rubra) is a perennial for containers, tropical borders, and bold foliage. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Red bracts open in early to late summer to show tubular yellow flowers. It sends up numerous suckers from its rhizomes, so give it room to spread. Its upright leaves point skyward.
Pairs well with Lemongrass, Vermillionaire cuphea, and Labyrinth dahlia.
