Notes

'Brush Strokes' little bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium 'Brush Strokes') is a grass for borders, meadows, rain gardens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows in a clumping form up to 36 inches tall and attracts butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It is drought tolerant, so it suits low care spots.

Pairs well with Jelena Japanese witch hazel, Butterfly milkweed, and Aromatic aster.
