Notes

Buttercup winterhazel (Corylopsis pauciflora) is a shrub for borders, specimens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a dense mound that reaches 4 to 6 feet tall and wide. Fragrant yellow flowers open in early to late winter and into spring, and they attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds.

Pairs well with Autumn fern, Christmas fern, Paperbark maple, and Snake's head.
