Notes
'Butterfly Bush' butterfly milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa 'Butterfly Bush') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and rock gardens. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its fragrant orange flowers open over a long season and feed monarch butterflies and other pollinators. Monarch caterpillars also feed on its leaves. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It is late to emerge in spring, so be patient.
Pairs well with PowWow White coneflower, Nodding onion, and Sedge.
