Notes
'Butterscotch' amsonia (Amsonia hubrichtii 'Butterscotch') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, specimen planting, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Light blue flowers attract butterflies in spring and summer, and the willow-like leaves turn butterscotch-yellow in fall. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Use it in a mass planting for texture and movement.
Pairs well with Little bluestem, Purple Coneflower coneflower, Ironweed, and Switchgrass.
