Notes
'Starstruck' blue star (Amsonia 'Starstruck') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 21 to 30 inches tall and spreads 30 to 42 inches. Light blue flowers open in spring and again in summer, and bees visit them. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.
Pairs well with False indigo, Purple Coneflower coneflower, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
