Notes

Cabbage palm (Sabal palmetto) is a tree for low maintenance gardens, winter interest, and xeriscape. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet, sandy or loamy soil. It has fan-shaped leaves and a stout, unbranched trunk. White flowers open in large, drooping clusters and give way to shiny, black fruits. Old leaves hang from the crown, so you can trim them or leave them as you prefer.

Pairs well with Sago palm, European fan palm, and Agapanthus.
